WIWT: Daisy Print Dress

Two of springs hottest trends are monochrome (which is admittedly always a favourite) and florals – more specifically daisies. When I went in to Farmers – Your Department Store recently to have a browse through their new season styles, I was immediately drawn to this monochromatic daisy print dress.

It’s a fit and flare style dress, which means that the bodice is fitted and the skirt flares out. This is one of my favourite dress styles as I prefer to wear something fitted on the top to enhance my bust and waist, but skimming over my curves on the bottom. If you have wider hips or a bigger tummy then this style should be quite a comfortable fit on you.

The dress comes with a skinny acid yellow belt that provides a great contrast to the monochrome print, and helps to break up the line of the dress. I noticed a lot of this bold acid yellow in store and think that it’s a great change from the usual pastel shades we see in spring.

I chose these black lace Salucci Collection flats because I really like the texture of them – aren’t they pretty?

There you go – easy spring style. One thing I forgot to mention is the texture of the dress – it’s difficult to describe and really needs to be seen (and felt) in person. The white flowers are slightly raised and the fabric feels a little bit … quilty? It’s a little thicker that what I had guessed from the pictures online, and is really warm to wear – perfect for spring when the weather is still a bit unpredictable!
