Over the weekend I went along to The Very Vintage Day Out, and I had an amazing time! I played assistant at the Photo Safari in the morning, I swooned over lots of scrumptious dresses and cheered for two of my friends who were finalists in Miss Pinup New Zealand 2015. I’ve got a whole bunch of pictures taken by both Doug and myself, so let’s go! Come and experience The Very Vintage Day Out 2015 with me.
When we got to the Photo Safari, we found my lovely friends Miss Suzy Sorbet and Miss Glamour La Rue – I snapped this photo of them in the back of a gorgeous pink 1959 Cadillac Standard Sedan.
Doesn’t Miss Suzy Sorbet look stunning? You may remember her as Sam from my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project. Speaking of stunning, check out this gorgeous dress that Hope & Harvest sent me to wear at The Very Vintage Day Out!

Meagan wears: Floral Island Hopper Dress (XL) from Hope & Harvest (gifted), floral nails by Penny Lazic, Ruby & Kit Clutch from eQuip, Jemma Hi Top Sneakers from Rubi Shoes
Other highlights included this delicious fresh juice. It was exactly the energy boost I needed midway through the afternoon, and I was so thrilled to find that there was a healthy option available.
The day passed far too quickly, and I spent lots of time looking around the stalls but didn’t buy anything. My two faves were Bombshell Clothing and Curvy Couture by Judy Dee – both of whom have stunning dresses for plus size women! Make sure you pop over and check them out if vintage glam is your jam.
I finished off the day watching two of my dear friends compete in the finals of Miss Pinup New Zealand. Miss Glamour La Rue won the title of Miss Publicity – she’s a great vivacious representative for us curvy babes and I love her body positive outlook.
I lost my voice cheering for my friend Miss Charlotte Cake, a fellow blogger who shares her baking adventures while also rocking her gorgeous pinup style. I’d love to have her feature on the blog one day, I think you’d love her!
Miss Charlotte Cake took out the runner up spot and title of Miss Vintage Vixen 2015, with Hamilton beauty Bettie Rage taking home the crown and title of Miss Pinup New Zealand 2015. It was an amazing day … and I can’t wait to do it all again next year!
Did you go to The Very Vintage Day Out? What was your favourite part?

Yes I did go to VVDO and one of my favorite parts was meeting Meagan Kerr! Bit of a fan girl moment right there! Aside from performing, the next favorite moment was the pinup comp. Like you one of my favorite venders was Curvy Couture.
Aw Beth! It was so lovely to meet you too – and great to see you perform! xo
