Emerald is the Pantone 2013 Colour of the Year. It’s also the birthstone of all those born in May, myself included…
I thought I’d share a few fabulous ways you can be on trend with your wardrobe and accessories, and look so good everyone else will be green with envy…
I love the lace detailing on this frock. Winter might be on the way, but this dress makes it seem like Spring. Team it up with a masculine blazer and a classic clutch.
If you don’t want to go full on emerald, why not try some luxe emerald accessories? I love this headband from Parisian designer Shourouk Rhaiem.
Three-quarter sleeves, ruched waist and loose fitting around the hips – this twist front top has everything that I like! I also like this darker emerald colouring.
Pair this sweet skater dress with some opaque tights and fab heels, and you’re ready for brunch with the girls…
How about a super soft slouchy bag from Saben? These jewel tones are gorgeous.
I love tops that bare a bit of shoulder (especially if you have some great ink to show off!). It might be getting a bit chilly in New Zealand at the moment, but I totally think that you could pair it with a pretty pashmina and look amazing.
The Mitered Stripes on this dress are incredibly flattering! Love love love.
The easiest way to stay on trend is to reach for the nail varnish. I love OPI’s Jade is the New Black – not only is it a fabulous colour, but you know that it’s a good quality varnish like all OPI products.
How about some coloured jeans? I’ve never been brave enough to step out of the blue and black comfort zone, but I’ve seen some pretty awesome coloured denims around lately. I might have to pop up to Albany and try these on…
While maxi dresses are more often seen in Summer, I think this would look super cute with a cardigan for Autumn. Even better, buy this and book a few weeks away somewhere warm and tropical. Perfect answer to the Winter blues.
Emerald: love it or hate it? What’s your favourite piece in the gallery?

Nice round up. I love my coloured jeans. In fact I don’t wear blue jeans anymore. p.s. I love how most of the models above are curvy. Good stuff 🙂
Thanks! I’m definitely going to try on some coloured jeans! And because I’m focussing on being primarily a plus size blog, most of the models will be curvy from here on in!
