Denim is not so much a trend as it is an enduring classic. It’s pretty much a Winter essential, so here are a few of my fave denim pieces around at the moment.
No longer is denim restricted to straight legged jeans, there are jeans of all different styles and colours, as well as shirts, dresses, skirts, and of course, the ever cool denim jacket.
However you decide to embrace the denim trend, let us offer this one piece of advice: only wear one piece of denim at a time. Double denim should be reserved for cowboys and awkward family photos…
The denim jacket is such a classic piece that I couldn’t go past this one – while there are heaps of denim jackets out there (including some you’ll see a little further down the page), this unadorned number really reflects traditional denim jacket design. No colour, no embellishments, just denim awesomeness.
Coloured jeans are super popular at the moment, and I’ve kind of resisted the trend up until now. However, these super soft skinny jeans are on special for $38.18 right now, so I’ve jumped out of my usual comfort zone and a pair is winging it’s way to me as we speak!

City Chic has some amazing jeans, and I’m very very sad that they won’t do up on me (wahhh!). The material is super comfortable and the styles a gorgeous, especially these high waisted button fly jeans. Button fly wins over zip for me any day! Am I alone here? Do you prefer button fly jeans or a zip?

I’m a big fan of bootcut jeans, as they always give such a nice line to my legs. These are also a win for me because I prefer my denim to be darker.

Printed denim jeans seem to be a big thing at the moment, and I’m honestly not sure I really like most of the offerings out there. However, these brocade print jeans by Australian label 17 Sundays are a beautiful combination of luxe, rock chic and denim – I think we’re on to a winner!
