Welcome to the last day of 2014. What does a fabulous fat babe such as myself wear on New Year’s Eve? Nothing so glam as you might expect.
I’ll be seeing the new year in quietly, catching a movie with my boys, enjoying a fun meal together and quite probably getting an early night. No wild parties, no big plans, just spending quality time with the people who matter the most. That means comfortable clothes, so I’m, channelling a little bit of boho babe with a simple tank and a sequinned maxi skirt. I’m even wearing the anklet I got from Rachael, my Aussie Curves Secret Santa! I’ll probably add a cardigan later, because I always get cold at the cinema.
I’m making the most of wearing this skirt while I can, because it’s a gorgeous skirt that’s perfect for summer, but it’s too big for me (and realistically has been for a while) so I’m going to make the tough choice and add it to my pile of clothes to sell or donate to charity in January. I’m considering this a “last outing” together, this is the end of an era and it’s time to move on as we move into a new year.
For me, this has been a year of many changes – injuring my knee and going through months of rehabilitation, becoming self employed, and the amazing journey that my blog has been on. There were a few things I didn’t get to do as much of in 2014 as I would have liked to, so I will definitely be making up for them in 2015. A lot of those things are blog-related, so stay tuned in January for a couple of super exciting announcements!
What are your plans for New Year’s Eve? Let me know what you’re getting up to!
Happy New Year!
Meagan wears:
Wild Child City Essential Singlet from Farmers
Gypsy Skirt by Kate Madison from The Warehouse
Danseur Flats from Rubi Shoes
Ruby & Kit clutch from eQuip
Anklet from eQuip
LOVE the outfit! You look stunning 🙂 I hope you had a great NYE, as well as an awesome start to the year.
Our NYE was very lowkey, we were meant to go to the waterfront to watch fireworks with friends, but the weather was pretty crappy down here, so we ended up watching Red Dwarf instead. A nice way to end the year, I think 😉
Thanks Kahurangi! It was really nice to have a quiet night with the family – we went to the movies, ate fish & chips, played board games and then watched other people’s fireworks … then went to sleep 🙂 Your NYE sounds perfect, I love Red Dwarf! xo
That sounds like an awesome night! one of my fave NYEs was spent playing cranium until 7:30 am, board games are the BEST!
i keep forgetting how great Red Dwarf (especially Cat), so we’re rewatching from the beginning 😀
Board games for liiiiife! My boy broke his tablet recently, so rather than getting it fixed and having him stare at a screen all holidays, I’ve been making him play board games and go on adventures with me. It’s awesome 😀
I love the clutch! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got planned for 2015!
Happy New Year, Megan. Here’s to new adventures this 2015. 🙂

I will prob be asleep come 12am lol – have a great night and looking forward to seeing whats all happening in 2015 🙂
I’m like you, don’t really celebrate new year’s so it will be a quiet night with my husband and inlaws (we’re still on holiday). And probably in bed by 10! Here’s to a fab 2015 Meagan, thanks for making 2014 a great year 🙂
Quiet one for us too. Getting on the road after work to head up to Whangarei to see the fam for a few days and hopefully heading to the beach if the weather plays ball.
You look beautiful Meagan, and I hope you have a wonderful time! Dinner and a movie with excellent company sounds far better than boozy shenanigans. Who wants to line up for a drink at the bar on the busiest night of the year anyway?!
Mine will be veeery quiet, just a simple one in with my wee girl, but it makes sense to spend the end of the year with the best thing from it. Best wishes for an awesome, happy and fun-filled 2015, and congratulations on a fabulous 2014 xoxo
