Wedding season is coming up and with it comes a question I get asked every year – “can I wear black to a wedding?”. Tradition states that wearing black to a wedding is a no no, apparently because it’s the colour of mourning and means that you don’t approve of the marriage. Sounds a bit passive-aggressive if you ask me! View Post
Where to buy plus size bridal gowns
Whether you’re a size 6, a size 16 or a size 26 I think that every bride deserves to feel like a million dollars on her wedding day. I’ve had a few friends who have had horrible experiences when they’ve gone to try on dresses because there haven’t been any above a size 12 to try on and the sales assistant has been a dick about it resulting in bride in tears and no wedding dress, and I want to let you know that it doesn’t have to be like that! Beach Wedding
My beloved baby brother (who is 28 years old and well over six foot, so clearly not a baby anymore) got married at the beginning of March, toes nestled in the sand of Matai Bay in Northland. It was a gorgeously sunny day, with the sun streaming down, and I’m so glad I had decided to wear a cool flowing maxi dress.
Fab Frocks – Plus Size Bridal & Formal Gowns
One of the things I get a lot of people asking me about is plus size bridal and formal gowns. And I can understand why – how often do you walk into a store looking for a formal gown or a wedding dress and are able to just try something on at a size 26? Or even a size 16? In New Zealand, buying plus size formalwear off the rack is pretty rare, so when I found out about the wonderful Kelly Sefton’s Fab Frocks in Rotorua, I had to pay her a visit. For blog research purposes, of course!
