I used to go to rock concerts all the time. I’ve seen some amazing bands over the years – until my anxiety started to become more of a problem for me and then I had to make the hard decision to stop going. I’m not very good around crowds, I suffer from panic attacks and to be honest it’s a real struggle. I recently got invited along to the Taylor Swift Reputation Tour concert here in Auckland and as someone who has been a Taylor Swift fan for the last ten years or so, I knew there was no way I could say no. I had to find a way to go to the concert and not have my anxiety be an issue. Easier said than done. I went to my first music festival when I was 14 years old, with my best friend and no adult supervision. I don’t know how we convinced our parents to let us go, but we did and it was amazing. An anchor for the soul
There is an anchor that ties me to the ocean. I grew up in seaside towns and always gravitate back to the sea when I need to revive my soul. In Auckland we are lucky to have a lot of beaches and some great waterfront areas, which makes it easy to recharge. Today I went along to one of my favourite spots in Auckland, which has a great view of the city, to enjoy the peace of the harbour and grab a couple of photos of my nautical inspired outfit. View Post
