Spring is here, and with it comes florals. There are new flowers blooming (and if you live somewhere like me where the wind is unpredictable, they are also scattered all over the ground), and floral prints are hitting shop floors as well. Florals don’t have to mean small Laura Ashley prints – they can be as big, bold and abstract as you want – and in my case, yes you can wear florals on a black background.
Rainy Day
Spring is finally on the horizon and with it, more rain. Unlike the rain we get in winter, this is a bit different. It’s somehow not as cold and hold the promise of growth and new life. It makes the spring bulbs bloom and blossoms appear on trees, and it can catch you unawares. When it’s starting to warm up, I don’t want to be wearing heaps of clothes and a heavy coat, so I invested in a light parka in case of a rainy day. View Post
That fateful coat
I wasn’t even looking for a coat. I nipped in to Autograph in Sylvia Park to have a quick look for a jumper while we were waiting to go and see Minions, and I spied it on the rack as I entered the store. I tried it on in slate blue and fell in lust with it’s warm cosy embrace. But slate blue isn’t practical with my wardrobe, and neither is hot pink, and the charcoal grey wasn’t there in my size. So I put the coat back and walked over to look at sweaters. But then I found myself back at the rack with the coats. View Post
Rainy Winter Days
In New Zealand (at least, the part that I live in), winter is not about snow – it’s about rain. Winter is cold, wet and oftentimes quite miserable – so warm clothes, umbrellas and shoes that will keep your feet dry are essential. View Post
Date Night at The Garden Shed
Last night, the boything and I went out on a date night to celebrate the end of Junk Free June. The Garden Shed is a new-ish bistro that’s not far from where I live, and I had a lunch meeting there recently and thought the food was delicious so I wanted to share it with my love (and check out their dinner menu).
