When it comes to makeup, I think I’m pretty blunt about the fact that I don’t have killer makeup skills. I like to keep it minimal, and my go to style is more of a no makeup makeup look than when I’m going for a full face look. I only use a few products to give me a look that is polished but not overdone – I switch out my full coverage foundation for a tinted moisturiser, swap my lipstick for a more subtle one and just generally tone everything down a bit.
Cruelty Free Beauty 101
Last year I made the decision to go cruelty free and stop using beauty products that are tested on animals. Before I made that leap, I thought that going cruelty free meant spending lots of money on obscure hard to find products. Boy, was I wrong! It’s become easier and easier to find great products that don’t come at the expense of our animal friends. Seeing as it’s #BeCrueltyFree week this week, I think there are a few things you need to know about cruelty free beauty.
My cruelty free daytime makeup look
Recently, PharmacyToday interviewed me and some of my other blogging friends (Laura from Laura Loves Beauty, Cass from Cassandra Myee and Morgan from Hyacinth Girl) about beauty trends for this coming spring and summer – you can check out the article here.
Since I made the switch to cruelty free I’ve discovered some amazing new cosmetics, and I wanted to share some of them with you, so here is my cruelty free daytime makeup look – natural with a bold lip.

Make Me Up: Back To School
One of my 30 x 30 resolutions was to experiment with make-up more, and so I thought I’d hold myself accountable by regularly sharing my made-up face with you! Today is the first day back at uni for me, and I’m super excited because it’s my last semester ever (I know I’ve said this the last two times I studied, but shh).
Monday is my longest day – I have back to back classes all day and then am working until 8pm – so my make-up needs to be long lasting and suitable for both uni and for work.
