Personally I’m a fan of two piece swimsuits, because they allow me to mix and match tops and bottoms. There are a couple of different styles of tankini out there this season – ones that are fitted in the bodice and ones that are a looser fit more floaty style – which one do you prefer?
If you’re after a loose floaty tankini top, this is a great one. Because of the flowy style, it doesn’t cling in the stomach area and it has the added benefit of being able to be worn as a top without looking like you’re in your bathing suit. Pop a pair of shorts over your bikini bottoms and you’ve got the perfect summer outfit! Available in sizes 16-26.

Want the best of both worlds? The bust of this tankini has a gorgeous tropical print and from the bust down it’s all about the flowing black waterfall style tankini. I think this tankini would be another one that could do double duty as a top for summer. Available in sizes 18-24.

This twist front style of swimsuit is popular, and one I see at EziBuy every year. This style comes in a whole bunch of different colours and prints, but the animal print is definitely my favourite! Available in sizes 16-26.

After buying a bra-fit bikini top last summer I’ve come to prefer this style because it gives me the most support and the best fit. I love the cut out detail on the front of this tankini, it takes this tankini from plain to a little bit daring. Available in sizes 36B-50H.

Grid print is everything right now (like this dress, ZOMG), and I love the Y neckline on this tankini. It’s got a built in shelf bra and I think this would be great for someone like me who wants to wear something stylish but doesn’t necessarily want to show off a lot of cleavage. Available in US sizes 12-28 (NZ 16-32).
SHOP IT: High-Neck Swim Tank, $125.70 from Lane Bryant
I like the square neckline on this style just for something a bit different, and once again I like it because I think it gives me a bit more coverage. This style comes in a whole bunch of different colours and prints, and is available in sizes 16-26.
SHOP IT: Quayside Woman Square Tankini, $79.99 from EziBuy
You know I’m always a fan of stripes, so this tankini will come as no surprise! The straps are adjustable and can be worn straight or crossed over, plus the ruching on the side is adjustable as well – a great way to help you get the best possible fit! Available in sizes 18-24.
