Swimsuit Special 2014: Bikini

A few months ago I was contacted by a reporter to talk about the popularity of the fatkini (that’s bikinis for plus size babes, y’all). I declined for a number of reasons, one of them being that the media outlet interviewing me has a history of body shaming and I would much rather use my body positive blog to talk about why I love wearing a bikini! I love swimsuits of all different cuts, but two piece bathing suits have to be my favourite – you can mix and match patterns and choose different sizes depending on your body shape. Bikinis always make me feel brave and powerful, because for so many years I shied away from them. But no more! There are loads of different shapes, styles and prints to help you look and feel fabulous.

I had a dream about snakes the other night, and since then I’ve been finding lots of amazing snake print things. This python print is just gorgeous! I love an underwire bikini top for the lift it gives me. I am really happy that ASOS have brought in cup sizing, as this is something I’ve struggled with in the past when purchasing from them when their bikini tops were sold by dress size.
