Sunglass Hut & OPSM Spring/Summer 13/14 collections preview

A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Sunglass Hut & OPSM Spring/Summer 13/14 collections preview at Studio Lumiere on behalf of nzgirl. Translation: I tried on some sweet new designer glasses, and found out what’s coming up in terms of eyewear fashion.

When I say that I tried on some glasses, I mean that I tried on most of the glasses on display. I’m always on the hunt for a new frame shape that suits my face, so this was the perfect opportunity to try heaps of different kinds.  Unfortunately, it did mean that I fell in love with more than one pair – oops!

A quick summary of the upcoming Spring/Summer trends: classic frame shapes, lots of colour, and a lot of floral madness. Statement glasses also seem to be the order of the season (Miu Miu has some with razorcut bottoms), but if you’re a first timer I suggest that you choose a classic frame shape that will look stylish season after season.

Here are a few of my favourite optical frames, available from your local OPSM store soon:

OpticalI also love these sunglasses (available soon from Sunglass Hut):

SunglassesHead over to nzgirl to see more of my favourite sunglasses from the preview.  I know you want to know my ultimate favourites, right? It’s definitely these Dolce and Gabbana glasses, hands down.  And they look amazing on me.  Now to save up $600…

If you’re new to the world of luxe designer items, I recommend sunglasses as a great first luxury purchase.  They’re reasonably priced in terms of designer items, and you’ll wear them so often that they’re totally justifiable in terms of spending that little bit extra.

Which designer eyewear is your favourite? Specs or shades?
