Summer Monochrome Love

Where I live, summer is humid. It’s hot and sticky, and sometimes you feel like you could swim through the air. On days that humidity is especially high (or when it’s super hot), you want to be wearing something as lightweight as possible. My new summer love is this dress from Harlow – it’s light, it looks fab and I feel gorgeous in it!

It’s similar to a wrap dress only it’s sewn at the bust and waist. I decided to pair it with a wide belt to break up the pattern a little (and a wide smile!). The fit is very generous (I’m wearing a 22) – the bust is a little big on me so I’m going to make a couple of adjustments to it, but otherwise it’s super comfortable.

One thing I really look for when I’m adding something new to my wardrobe is how versatile it is. Can it be dressed up or down? Will I be able to wear it often? How will it fit in with the things I already have? Well, I’m happy to say that this dress fits right into my wardrobe – because it’s monochrome I can pair it with pretty much everything! It’s easily dressed up with a belt and jewellery or dressed down with more casual shoes  – I’d even wear this to the beach!

Because I have wider hips than this dress was made for, I sometimes flash a little bit of leg. That’s totally fine by me – it means that I’m more likely to dress it down and wear it as a casual beach dress. Cue sandals and a sunhat! If you’re going to buy this I recommend that you buy it in your regular size, as it’s pretty true to size and is meant to have quite a generous fit – see how amazing Ashley looks in it here – swoon!
