It’s no secret that animal print is a favourite of mine all year round. No matter where you are, animal print is having a moment right now, so here’s a few of my fave picks. I’d love to know what kind of animal print you love most (obviously leopard print is mine!) – make sure you leave me a comment below!
Above: PLT Plus Tiger Print Faux Fur Crop Jacket, AUD $72.00 from Pretty Little Thing
Jungle Frenzy Dress, $109.99 from City Chic; Mixed Printed Swing Dress, USD $29.99 from Simply Be; Animal Print Swing Dress, USD $21.49 from Simply Be
There’s so many different ways to wear animal print – you can go traditional, mix it up with other prints or bring in other pops of colour. As always there are a few crossovers of current trend, and we’re seeing a few mash-ups of neon and animal print. I think the middle mixed print dress would look super cute with a wide belt and a black biker jacket.
boohoo Plus Leopard Print Tie Shirt Dress, AUD $25.00 from boohoo.com; Snake Print Shirt Dress, £29.99 from Yours Clothing; ASOS DESIGN Curve Midi Shirt Dress, $77.99 from ASOS
When it comes to animal print – you can’t beat a classic! Shirt dresses are always in style, and there are quite a few options in terms of hemline length. One great thing about shirt dresses like this is that you can unbutton them and wear them open layered over something else – we love a versatile wardrobe!
ASOS DESIGN Curve Snake Duster Coat, $89.13 from ASOS; Wild Thing Shirt, AUD $139.95 from Taking Shape; Neon Leopard Cardigan, USD $35.49 from Simply Be
Layering pieces like duster coats and cardigans are great for incorporating trends into a basic look – this was how I first started pushing out of my black on black comfort zone. No matter what colour or print you’re going for, everything will look great over a black base! When you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, bring in other colours and prints.
Wild & Free Twisted and Tied Long Sleeve Tunic, USD $64.95 from Eloquii; Sara Burnout Tunic, $119.99 from EziBuy; Grey Animal Print Seamed Scoop Neck Top, £11.99 from Yours Clothing
When the weather starts getting cooler I like to get cosy – out come the jeans, the jeggings, the ponte pants … and I’ve started embracing tunics because I often find regular tops too short. I’ve recently gotten the Sara tunic in the middle and I love the black on black design, I can’t wait to start wearing it this autumn.
Animal Print Fleece Jacket, USD $24.49 from Simply Be; Jungle Frenzy Jacket, $139.99 from City Chic; PLT Plus Brown Leopard Print Cropped Puffer, $46.00 from Pretty Little Thing
Cropped jackets, puffers, fleece – warm stylish layers are the order of the day and a great way to make your favourite summer pieces do double duty as we head into autumn and winter.
LIMITED COLLECTION Black Pleated Snake Print Skirt, £26.99 from Yours Clothing; Leopard Midi Skirt, USD $69.95 from Eloquii; Wild, Wild, Wild Neoprene Pencil Skirt, USD $54.95 from Eloquii
I love an animal print skirt, and knee length or just below is my ideal length. There’s really no limit to style or length that looks good in animal print, from the shortest of minis all the way to maxi skirts.
Animal Pant, $109.90 from K&K; Chloe Leopard High Waist Skinny Jeans, USD $35.99 from Simply Be; Snake Print Jersey Leggings, USD $15.99 from Simply Be
I love an animal print pant, at this point I think I have at least four pairs in different styles (maybe more – don’t judge me). My absolute fave, and most worn has to be these ones (below) from 17 Sundays (and yes I DO wear them with the matching jumper!). The ones I have are from last year, but here are this season’s version which are more of a leopard print.
