When I think “rock chic”, I think black, denim, studs, leather and eyeliner. And red lipstick, of course. I’m always up for giving something a go, so for our NZ Style Curvettes challenge this week I thought I’d combine all of those things into one outfit.
My tee is oversized and super soft for that slouchy, lived in feel. Instead of jeans I’ve got ponte pants because I find them warmer than denim (okay, I’ll be honest, this is everyday rock chic for mums), but my trusty denim jacket is always on hand and ticks off that studded requirement as well. My (faux) leather ankle boots have been my winter go to for ages now – pretty sure you’ve seen them on the blog plenty of times by now.
A good rock chic outfit needs some badass personality to pull it off, and I thought I’d channel my friend Bessie Pledger for this outfit. Who better than an Aussie babe who loves a red lip, totally owns her VBO, is an all round body positive badass and rocks resting bitch face like it’s nobody’s business?

You are rocking that red lip! I am still lusting after that jacket, I think it’s permanently on my wishlist 😛
#thejacket is a wardrobe essential I think!
LOVE the red lippy! You should totally wear it in some future outfit posts 🙂
Thanks Leah! I’ve got to be in the mood for red, but you’ll definitely be seeing more of it over winter!
Looooove it!!! <3
The Jacket is fantastic!
It’s my favourite – I’ve also got it in light blue denim haha
