I love a good face mask, especially the fresh masks from Lush because they always make my skin feel so lovely! When I was in store and Abby told me that they now have a self preserving version of Mask of Magnaminty, I knew I had to give it a go because I’m always terrible at using my fresh ones up in time.
Lush Mask of Magnaminty is made with marigold oil and chlorophyllin to treat the skin; evening primrose seeds and aduki beans to gently exfoliate as you remove it; mineral rich kaolin to nourish, honey (which has great antibacterial properties); and peppermint oil to stimulate the blood cells just under the surface of your skin to leave it looking bright and refreshed.
The mask smells super minty (as the name would suggest!) because of the peppermint oil, which reminds me of the Cupcake Face Mask, but I found this easier to apply – possibly because it’s already at room temperature. I apply it using my fingers all over my face, and it’s a body mask so if you need to give the skin on your back and chest a bit of TLC then you can pop it there as well. Leave it on until it’s dry, and then I wet my hands and massage the mask off my face. It exfoliates as you remove it, making it kind of messy, so this is one that I suggest removing when you’re in the shower – that way you can get it thoroughly rinsed off. The mask is meant to be a deep cleansing one, and I can definitely confirm that it is – my skin looks and feels amazing after, lots cleaner and brighter, making it a great one for transitional seasons or over winter when my skin is looking a little dull.
This mask comes in two sizes – 125g which is perfect for someone who does face masks weekly like me (or even less regularly!) because it does last quite a while; and the big 315g pot which, to be honest, I’d only recommend if you were planning to use if on your chest/back on a regular basis.
SHOP IT: You can get a 125g pot of Mask of Magnaminty for $18.90 or a big 315g pot for $42.50, from your local Lush store or order online.
Have you used any of Lush’s face masks before? I’d love to know what your favourite is, or if there are any you think that I should try!
