Yesterday I went on a hike through native bush with my mom. I grew up in the country with an amazing section of native bush on our property that my brother and I would spend a lot of time in, but now that I’m living in the city I really don’t get to spend as much time out in nature as I’d like.
When I was growing up my mom and grandmother taught me a lot about plants and how to identify them, so it was lots of fun trying to remember the names of the trees as we were walking through the bush.
There were native birds as well, singing their beautiful songs. I’m going to have to start going on regular bush walks once I get back to Auckland, because this one really did make me realise how much I miss being out there in the stillness. It’s such a great way to centre yourself, relax and unwind. Not to mention the exercise you’re getting! Of course, the joy of being out in the bush was compounded by the fact that we also stopped to soak in the hot springs – what a way to soothe your aches and pains!
How do you relax and unwind?

LOVE your pants!!!
I am in looooove with your shruggie kimono thingy!!! And I totally want to get my hands on a print pant, maybe harem style? just to try something completely new for myself!
I always love walking out in nature, I just don’t like the hiking aspect. A stroll is nice, a hike and I’m outta there, hahaha!
