Sometimes I find swimwear shopping a complete nightmare. Usually I leave it way too late and end up shopping in summer when it’s already hot. Nothing is quite like writhing your sweaty body into a swimsuit, under the hot lights of a changing room on an already hot day. It is second only to trying on a wetsuit that is slightly too small in the middle of summer. Bloody awful. To save you from terrible changing room lighting and the disappointment of realising the one thing you like is not available in this store in your size, here’s where you can buy plus size swimwear online (and sometimes in store, depending on where you live).
ASOS
No matter what time of year it is, ASOS always seems to have some kind of swimwear, and they usually have a range of styles to choose from. They stock multiple brands as well, including ASOS Curve, boohoo Plus, New Look Curve, and Nike Curve, and sizes range from 2-30.
Curvy by Capriosca Swimwear
Aussie label Curvy by Capriosca Swimwear have some gorgeous designs, and they have the largest range of plus size rash shirts (up to size 26) that I have found. Sizes range from 10-30.
Figleaves
By now you probably all know that I’m a fan of bra fit swimwear. I think that as a big busted woman this gives me more support and a better fit, and I think it’s worth paying a little extra for. Figleaves carries some great brands including Elomi (which is my favourite – you can see my Elomi swim bra in this post), Figleaves Curve and Panache in a range of styles including mastectomy swimwear. Sizes range from 6-28, cup size B-K).
ModCloth
One of the things I love most about ModCloth is that they show their clothing on a couple of models, so you can see what that swimsuit looks like on someone who is straight size and someone who is plus size. They always have some really cute swimwear in different styles and prints. Some is retro styled and some more modern, and sizes range from US 00-30 (NZ 4-34).
Swimsuits For All
Swimsuits For All specialises in bathing suits of all shapes and colours and prints. They have the largest selection of options (including chlorine resistant styles) that I’ve found, in sizes US 4-26 (NZ 8-30) with some in bra sizing.
Taking Shape*
One pieces, tankinis, rash shirts, board shorts, cover ups … Taking Shape has a bit of everything. They have a range of different prints and patterns to choose from, in sizes 12-24.
Torrid
I always love the swimwear designs at Torrid – they have a range of cute styles and beautiful prints with coverups and board shorts as well. Some designs and sizes do sell out quickly, they’re available in sizes 00-6 (US 10-30/NZ 14-34).
Yours Clothing
The swimwear at Yours Clothing comes in a variety of bold beautiful prints as well as plain colours. They have a range of styles including swimdresses, bikinis, swim shorts, swim leggings, one piece swimsuits and tankinis in size 16-36.
Zebrano*
Zebrano stocks plus size swimwear brands Artesands and Beyond The Sea, with a range of styles including one pieces, swimdresses, bikinis, tankinis and rash shirts in size 14-24.

Autograph*: Size 14-26. This is my go to place for rash shirts, and they also have bathing suits and board shorts.
Avenue: Size US 14-32 (NZ 18-36). They have mix and match separates and one pieces in both plain and patterned designs.
Avokado*: Size 6-24 (cup size D-JJ). They stock a range of brands including Curvy Kate, Elomi, Fantasie, and Freya.
Beyond The Sea: Size 10-24. Cute designs including bikinis, one pieces and boyleg styles.
Birdsnest: Size 8-26. Limited options in plus sizes, but they have some very cute pieces by Capriosca.
boohoo: Size 4-24. Some really fashion forward styles, very budget friendly.
Brava Lingerie: Size 6-24 (cup size D-K). They stock a range of brands including Elomi, Freya, Panache and Ulla.
Caroline Eve*: Size 10-22. One pieces, tankinis, swim shorts and rash shirts in lovely prints.
Catherines: Size US 16-34 (NZ 20-38). Catherines has some great styles that offer a bit more coverage.
City Chic*: Size XS-XL (14-24). Some really cute designs in a range of styles, currently on end of season sale.
Curvy: Size 6-30 (cup size D-K). They stock a range of brands, including Artesands and Capriosca.
Curvy Chic Sports: Size 14-26. One pieces and tankinis with most styles best suited for B-D/E cup, and rash shirts.
Dale and Waters: Size 16-50. A small range of swimwear including rashies.
Eloquii: Size US 12-28 (NZ 16-32). Cute styles with mix and match options.
EziBuy*: Size 6-26. Tankinis, one pieces and swimdresses in a good range of prints along with rash shirts, board shorts and cover ups.
Farmers*: Tankinis, one pieces and rash shirts in a good range of prints.
Fullbeauty: Size US 12-40 (NZ 16-44). A wide range of styles in a variety of prints and colours.
JD Williams: Size US 6-30 (NZ 10-34) with some bikinis available in cup size D-J. Lots of cute styles to suit a range of budgets.
Kmart*: Size 6-24. A small selection available online, more in store, very budget friendly. Larger sizes sell out very fast so be quick!
Kiyonna: Size 0X-3X (US 10-24/NZ 14-28). Current range is limited as waiting for new season stock.
Lane Bryant: Size US 10-28 (NZ 14-32). Cute styles in a range of colours and prints, lots of fun fashion forward options.
Long Tall Sally: Size 10-22. One piece and tankini options for taller babes.
Millers*: Size 10-26. Lots of print options in a range of styles, very budget friendly.
ModLi: Size XS-5X (US 4-32/NZ 8-36). Modest swimwear in a range of styles and colours.
Monif C.: Size US 14-24 (NZ 18-28). Some really nice fashion forward styles, these sell out so don’t sleep on it!
Navabi: Size 14-30. A range of styles and prints from brands such as Cactus, Hunter McGrady, Junarose and Zizzi.
Nordstrom: Size US 14-28 (NZ 18-32). Lots of options available but limited in terms of colours/prints.
Old Navy: 1X-4X (US 16-30/NZ 20-34). A good variety of styles and colours.
Playful Promises: Size 6-26 (cup size B-G). Super cute styles from brands like Collectif, Hunter McGrady and Wolf & Whistle.
Plus Size Bras: Size 14-32 (cup size C-G). A range of styles and colours with some budget friendly options.
Postie*: Size 8-26. A few options in plus sizes, very budget friendly.
Pretty Little Thing: Size 2-26. Some very cool, fashion forward options in a range of style and prints/colours.

The Warehouse*: Size 6-28. Cute options in a range of styles, very budget friendly. Larger sizes sell out very fast so be quick!
Thunderpants: Size S-2XL (NZ 8-26). A limited range of cute designs and prints.
Ulla Popken: Size US 12-38 (NZ 16-42). Lots of different styles and colours to choose from. They only ship to US and Canada so use a freight forwarder for international locations.
