Last week I popped over to High Society’s Auckland headquarters to meet the team (including amazing designer and fellow Gisborne gal Sheryl May) and check out the new season looks for Chocolat, their plus size range. You might have seen me wearing Chocolat before, but I think that this season’s collection “High Spirits” is better than ever so I thought I’d give you a wee peek at some of my favourites. These would definitely be investment pieces for me because they’re great quality high fashion pieces, and I know I’d get a lot of wear out of them. View Post
My secret to flawless foundation
All my adult life, I’ve wondered how the heck women get that gorgeous smooth look to their skin when they apply makeup. You know, the kind that looks like you’ve had your makeup done by a team of professionals. I’ve tried countless foundations (easily more than 50) in an attempt to find the holy grail that would give me this magical angel skin. I’ve applied it with brushes, used a sponge, tried my fingertips, and do you think I could master it? No freaking chance! Until now – now I have mastered the secret to flawless foundation! View Post
11 Body Positive Instagrammers You Should Follow
With Instagram making the hashtag #curvy unsearchable last week, and Oprah Magazine’s recent advice that you should only wear a crop top if you have a flat stomach (spoiler alert: that’s a complete load of bullshit), I think we need a bit of a body positive shake up! So here are some of my favourite body positive Instagram accounts – check them out and let me know if there are any others you’d recommend. Let’s get this body positive party started! View Post
That fateful coat
I wasn’t even looking for a coat. I nipped in to Autograph in Sylvia Park to have a quick look for a jumper while we were waiting to go and see Minions, and I spied it on the rack as I entered the store. I tried it on in slate blue and fell in lust with it’s warm cosy embrace. But slate blue isn’t practical with my wardrobe, and neither is hot pink, and the charcoal grey wasn’t there in my size. So I put the coat back and walked over to look at sweaters. But then I found myself back at the rack with the coats. View Post
Cruelty Free Deodorant
When I started my cruelty free journey, one of the things I really struggled with was deodorant. I used Nivea roll on deodorant for a long time, and really liked the way it performed but hated the fact that Nivea is not cruelty free so I began my search for a suitable replacement. I’ve tried powders, sprays, pastes and roll ons; the good, the bad and the ugly. I’ve finally found two deodorants that I really like, so I thought a post about cruelty free deodorant might be helpful. View Post
