The Fundamentals of Cupcakes and Body Love

Cupcakes and body love

When I was a young girl I used to love baking, but I really disliked following a recipe. Don’t get me wrong,  I follow instructions but I have always struggled with the concept of doing something for an outcome somebody else designed.

I wanted to make cupcakes that were entirely my own. Yes, they would have the fundamentals: butter, sugar, baking powder and so on – but if I wanted to make them pink, that’s what I would do. If I wanted to add chocolate chips, then so be it. View Post

I’m Having Surgery

Meagan Kerr ready for an MRI

So, I’m having surgery on Tuesday and feeling pretty anxious about it. Some of you know that I’ve been having some issues on and off for a few years now, and I haven’t wanted to talk about it much, simply because I haven’t had the answers I needed to be able to tell you what’s going on. Double Take: Isla-Maree Miracle Dress

It’s important to me that my clothes are versatile. While I am a serial outfit repeater and will gladly wear the same clothes over and over (because going with what you love is important, right?), I want to be able to change them up for different occasions, different seasons, different moods. Take the Isla-Maree Miracle Dress for example: it has a reversible neckline (so you can wear it either way depending on your mood) and can be styled for almost any weather in a number of ways. Make sure you’re paying attention, because (spoiler alert!) you could win one of your own… View Post

Top of her game

New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears K&K Zip Back Cocoon Top and Yours Clothing Biker Pintuck Jeggings

As we head into the cooler months, I start looking for cosy clothes that I can snuggle up in – a top and leggings, jeggings or ponte pants is my go to because it’s super easy (not to mention comfortable!). I don’t go out a whole lot in winter, but I still like to look and feel nice – especially when bad weather starts getting me down. View Post

Floating Away: I Try Float Therapy

The floatation pod at White Spa

The floatation pod at White Spa

I’ve been wanting to go in a float tank since I was young but never got the chance until recently. I had a lot of questions before I went that made me hesitant to book an appointment. How does float therapy work? Do I need a bathing suit? Will I have to wear a robe that doesn’t fit me? Will I be too fat for the float tank? Basically all of the questions. View Post

Disclaimer: I tried float therapy courtesy of White Spa but all opinions are (as always) my own.
