Trend Tip: Winter Brights

While my wardrobe might be full of black clothes and other dark colours, I’m told that some of you are fans of bright pops of colour in winter! Having a hunt around, it wasn’t so easy to find awesome bright winter clothes for plus size ladies, so after searching far and wide, I thought I’d share some of my fave finds…

This jacket from City Chic is all kinds of bright! View Post

Aussie Curves: Colour Clash

AUSSIE CURVES headerThis week’s Aussie Curves theme was Colour Clash, so I was forced to banish all my black clothes to the wardrobe and reach for the colour – not something I have much of (especially bright colours!).

Aussie Curves_Meagan Kerr_Colour Clash 3 Fortunately, I managed to find some red and purple in my closet. That clashes quite well, don’t you think? So bright! View Post

Style It: Winter Greys

I think that grey is the perfect neutral for Winter, especially when paired with black and pastels.  The team at ASOS asked me to style up a few outfits for the New Zealand Winter season, and I think this one is perfect for work or play!

I love the flare of the skater dress and the sweetheart neckline – this dress is super adorable. View Post

Trend Tip: Denim

Denim is not so much a trend as it is an enduring classic.  It’s pretty much a Winter essential, so here are a few of my fave denim pieces around at the moment.

No longer is denim restricted to straight legged jeans, there are jeans of all different styles and colours, as well as shirts, dresses, skirts, and of course, the ever cool denim jacket.

However you decide to embrace the denim trend, let us offer this one piece of advice: only wear one piece of denim at a time.  Double denim should be reserved for cowboys and awkward family photos

The denim jacket is such a classic piece that I couldn’t go past this one – while there are heaps of denim jackets out there (including some you’ll see a little further down the page), this unadorned number really reflects traditional denim jacket design.  No colour, no embellishments, just denim awesomeness. Aussie Curves: Pink

This week’s Aussie Curves theme was pink, but I have a confession to make: pink is not a colour that features in my wardrobe, apart from the occasional accessory. So I thought I’d do my pink post on how to accessorise with pink…

Pink 3

Step one: Pink lipstick. I’ve chosen Maybelline New York‘s Color Sensational Vivids lipstick in hot plum for a super bright pop of colour.
