Vote for This is Meagan Kerr in the navabi Curvy Blog Awards 2013

I’m pretty excited to be representing New Zealand in navabi‘s Curvy Blog Awards this year!

If I win, navabi will fly me to London, where I’ll get to model in a professional photo shoot, meet an international supermodel and ELLE cover girl Justine LeGault and British Cosmopolitan magazine’s Laura Puddy. I’ll get to visit London Fashion Week where I’ll get exclusive insights into the collections of some of the world’s top designers, and on top of that €500 to spend at navabi! Then I can come back and share it all with you…

Nailed It! How to remove glitter polish

One of the most annoying things about glitter polish (and in fact, most textured polishes) is how difficult it is to remove. I hear people complaining about this all the time, so I thought I’d put together a quick tutorial to show you how to remove glitter polish with ease!

Aussie Curves: Celebrity Copycat

AUSSIE CURVES header
This week I really wanted to pay tribute to a woman who has had a really big impact on myself (and I’m sure on many of you as well) and whose body positive message is heard by many people all over the world. Her #effyourbeautystandards tag on instagram is a constant source of inspiration to women (and some men), and I’ve recently been told that I bear a striking resemblance to her, so who better to choose this week than the fabulous Tess Munster?

Lush Halloween Collection + Giveaway

Last night I hung out with Amber, the lovely manager of Lush Queen Street. We filmed a vlog to introduce all of the rad (limited edition) Halloween products that will be in store from next week, which was a totally new experience for me. As you’ll be able to tell in the video, Amber is super comfortable in front of the camera, while I think I need a little more practice! View Post

Confident women wanted!

Hi ladies!

As you know, I’m working on an amazing photographic project at the moment that looks at fashion for plus sized women, and how society tries to police women’s bodies. The project sees beautiful plus size women challenging society’s “rules” about what women of a certain size should/shouldn’t wear. You can read more about it here.

In addition to that project, I’m also wanting to photograph a group of women in reference to Annie Leibovitz’s images for Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty.

Please note that this shoot will require you to be photographed in a group setting in your underwear and possibly nude (if you’re not comfortable being photographed nude that’s fine, please just let me know when you get in touch with me!). If you’re not comfortable showing your lady bits on camera, that’s okay – I will pose you so that your modesty is maintained.

Just so you know, I believe in leading by example. I’m going to be in the photos with you – scars, piercings, cellulite and all. Come and celebrate your body with me!

I will be exhibiting one of the images as part of my Graduation Show in November – I will let you know more about the exhibition closer to the time.

I’m looking for ladies who are:

  • Aged 18-35
  • Wear size 16+ clothing
  • Confident with their bodies
  • Happy to be photographed in their underwear and nude
  • Available on Sunday 27th October 2013 from 1pm – 3pm, and able to make it to my studio in Pt Chevalier, Auckland.

If you fit the above requirements, please get touch with me. If you don’t but think you know someone who might be interested, please share this post with them! If you think you might be interested, but you have questions about the project or are concerned how the images will be used, please contact me via the form below.

x Meagan
