Last week my boyfriend and I celebrated our 4th anniversary. We marked four years of epic adventures with a roadtrip around part of the central North Island that included a swim in a thermal pool, a visit to the snow, a stay in a haunted hotel and some amazing food. I also shot some outfits while we were down there, but I’ll share those with you in another post. For now, grab a cup of tea and prepare for lots of photos…
What to wear to the races
Racing season is upon us, and if you’re planning on attending any of the events over the next six months then you will need to be well dressed! A certain standard of dress is expected (you can read the dress code for Ellerslie here), and if you’ve never been before then it can be quite daunting trying to figure out what to wear to the races – but never fear, I’ve found some great frocks that will have you race ready in no time…
Swimsuit Special 2014: Bikini
A few months ago I was contacted by a reporter to talk about the popularity of the fatkini (that’s bikinis for plus size babes, y’all). I declined for a number of reasons, one of them being that the media outlet interviewing me has a history of body shaming and I would much rather use my body positive blog to talk about why I love wearing a bikini! I love swimsuits of all different cuts, but two piece bathing suits have to be my favourite – you can mix and match patterns and choose different sizes depending on your body shape. Bikinis always make me feel brave and powerful, because for so many years I shied away from them. But no more! There are loads of different shapes, styles and prints to help you look and feel fabulous.
Trend Tip: Midi Skirts
Hemlines have dropped this spring, with midi lengths becoming increasingly popular. Sitting just below the knee, the midi skirt (or dress) is a little more demure, a lot more grown up, and gives a nod to the styles of the 1970’s. You’ve seen me wearing midi skirts a lot on this blog, like this black one, this pink one and this printed skirt – and now here are some of my favourite midi skirts for spring.
Great Summer Shoes For Big Feet
For most women, shoe shopping is an exciting expedition, you can never have enough pairs of shoes. All my life people have tried to make me feel comfortable with my big feet but alas, the funny jokes have not made it any easier to find fashionable footwear. I am forever left asking, “why must big feet have to equal big problems?” Everybody needs shoes. View Post
