On the road again

I love a good summer roadtrip, especially when the destination is my partner’s home town of Taupo. We load up the car with all of our stuff, crank up the music and I annoy the child with my singing. There’s no need to dress all fancy for a roadie, casual and comfortable is where it’s at.

A comfy tee, denim shorts, sunnies and sneakers. That’s pretty much my summer uniform. No makeup unless it’s a really special occasion (I didn’t bring any makeup on holiday with me, apart from the lipsticks floating around in my handbag), because I’m planning to spend most days swimming.

We stopped off at Atiamuri, where there is a dam and a power station, to stretch our legs and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It’s pretty close to Taupo, but we try to stop there every time we head down because it’s just so beautiful – even when it’s raining!
