What is your favourite place to shop?
City Chic – I love their TDF jeans. I also love ModCloth.
What/who inspires your fashion choices?
I follow a number of blogs that give me ideas of what to wear, but usually I am pretty standard in jeans and a black top! I wear a lot of black, it’s my favourite colour.
What made you want to take part in the Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project?
I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. I usually shy away from the camera. I really enjoyed reading the last Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project and think it’s a fantastic idea and was quite stoked to get to be part of it this time. I love the fact it shows real women and that all shapes and sizes are beautiful.
Do you have any previous experience with body shaming? Tell us about it.
I have lost count of the number of times I have been randomly yelled at by people driving past while I am walking. The verbal abuse usually always includes the words “fat bitch”. One time I actually had rubbish thrown at me as well. It doesn’t upset me as much as it used to, if anything it makes more angry than anything else, but there is no point letting people like that waste any space in your head.
If you have a day when you’re not feeling great about yourself, how do you deal with that?
I paint my nails, bright nails always help. Or take a nap!
How do you show your body love?
I make sure I drink enough water and eat good food. I also make sure I look after my skin with good moisturisers, and I always take my makeup off before bed.

You are Amazing, Stunningly Gorgeous and inspiring. I read in a lot of the comments you were planning to head to Palmerston North/ Manawatu, did you get here? If not are you still considering it?
I am a plus size Mama, the only time I “conformed to the norm” was as a new born baby. I used to feel bad and not know what to do to “fix me” but in the last wee while I have accepted who I am, those that love me love me for who I am, those that don’t accept me for who I am really don’t feature highly.
I completed my first triathlon before Easter and I am doing a 5km fun run/ walk next weekend.
I am a size 20/ 22 and loving life

Great to have you here I was planning to head to Palmerston North next weekend actually, but my plans have changed and I’m going to Gisborne to spend some much needed time chilling out with my family.
