I’m obsessed with all thing lavender, from the oils and moisturisers I use to help me sleep, to the plants growing in the garden outside my bedroom, to lavender syrup on pancakes. After seeing a post from my friend Miss Charlotte Cake saying that she was visiting Lavender Hill Farm in Coatesville, I knew I had to pay them a visit before the lavender was harvested. We were just in time, visiting the day before picking! It was positively dreamy – there were rows and rows of lavender just waiting to be harvested, all abuzz with bees and bumblebees and butterflies. There were olive groves and lemon trees and alpacas, with frosty limoncello just waiting to be tasted (just a heads up, if you’re a non-drinker like me, limoncello is strong AF).
They grow different kinds of lavender there, and it was really interesting to learn about the different kinds and how they’re used (and yes, we got to smell the difference!). I honestly could have spent hours and hours there, it’s such a heavenly place. They have a Bed & Breakfast there as well, and I would love to go back for an overnight stay (especially over flowering season). We met the owners while we were there by the way, and they were super lovely and told us lots about the lavender, about the farm, and even recommended a local café for us to visit once we were through exploring.
If you want to see a bit more of our adventures, I did vlog while we were there (check it out here). It cost us $10 entry fee to visit (the 14 year old was free), and they’ve got a shop on site (and online) if you want to take something home. I bought some of the hydrosol (lavender water) to use as a linen spray and a spray to rehydrate and cool my skin over summer, I got the big bottle and am going to decant it into a smaller spritzing bottle so it’s easy to use.
Anyway, I had a blast there and Doug snapped some photos of me in a cute new skirt I bought while we were on summer holiday, so I just thought I’d share. Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Have you ever visited a big field of flowers?
