Khrissie thinks that body positivity is important because, “Put simply, there are so many other issues in the world to bother ourselves about other than stacking ourselves up against one another or feeling like the skin we were born into is not good enough. You’re good enough, I’m good enough and that’s all we should have in common when it comes to the number on your dress label. It’s what’s inside that counts – it’s not the peel, it’s the ‘nana.”
Comparison really is the thief of joy. If we all just celebrated what we have, how much happier would we be? This is one of the reasons I started Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes – to encourage women to celebrate the bodies that they have now, however that body may be. Why would you put off living your life because you’re too busy being at war with yourself?
