When I asked who you were having trouble gift shopping for, so many of you mentioned that it was hard finding that perfect something for the dudes in your life. And so, I’ve enlisted the help of the dude in my life to put together our top 51 gifts for guys *. Say hello to my partner Doug, who blogs over at Traction Bike Blog – you may remember him from previous posts.
Whether you’re shopping for your partner, your dad, or your brother, you’re bound to find something awesome. You may even find a few things you want for yourself, I know we both have! Happy shopping!
Looking for something a little bit techy? There are plenty of gadgets to make life more fun and make it easier! If your guy likes a bit of adventure then the Go Pro Hero is the perfect entry level Go Pro (Doug has one, with a review of it up on Traction Bike Blog soon … ish). If he’s a gamer, and a console is a bit out of your price range, then why not get him a new game or some accessories? For the bloke who has everything, how about a 3D printer? That looks seriously amazing!

Ready for a bit of adventure? If your dude is in to working out or playing sport, think about getting him something that will make that more awesome – Doug can’t recommend compression pants highly enough, they’re great for helping muscle repair and recovery, and I think a good sports bag would come in pretty handy. We’re both really excited about that Cacoon (which comes in three sizes and LOADS of colours), I’ll definitely be pinning that for when we can buy a bigger home!

Need a gift for a business dude? Doug and I agree that every guy needs a great suit – Beggs XL has some great options for big and tall men. For a great fitting suit, your best bet is to book a time for a fit appointment! If your bloke is stuck at his desk, get him a mini fridge to keep a cheeky beverage chilled – bonus points if you track down a supply of his favourite drink to stash inside! Does he travel for business? A Powerbag case is perfect for carrying a laptop and it has a built-in charging system with a removable battery to charge your phone or tablet; and a ChugPlug is the perfect backup battery for MacBook users.
20. Nixon Sentry Leather Watch, $259.99 21. Satzuma USB Mini Fridge, $34.90 22. Powerbag Business Class Case, $169.95 23. Montblanc Meisterstuck Classique Pen, from $640.00 24. Is your guy an entertainment buff? If he’s a foodie then a cookbook could be right up his alley (the Thug Kitchen one is vegetarian, so perfect for the herbivore in your life), or maybe something crafty like a cheese making kit could be the answer! An Instax camera is a cool gift for someone in to photography (you could even win one from me! Pop over here to enter). And if your dude has a sweet sweet moustache, a whisker dam will stop the head from his beer (or the foam from his latte) getting into his ‘mo – genius!

I’ve got a few basics as well – some of these grooming gifts are great stocking stuffers! If you’re buying for a bearded bloke, a little beard oil wouldn’t go amiss – it helps to condition the beard and keep it looking good. While we have avoided including the four traditional gifts (socks, undies, hankies and ties – sorry Dad, I gave you a barrage of these growing up), I couldn’t resist adding in the trunks from Rose & Thorne as our final suggestion. They don’t just make women’s lingerie, they also do boxers and briefs for dudes that Doug assures me are super comfortable.
43. Triumph & Disaster On the Road Travel Kit, $65.00 44. Next Supersoft Robe, $47.00 45. NEOH Tailfeather x Vanishing Elephant Duffle Backpack, $362.47 46. The Bloke Lumberjack Beard Food, $36.00 47. Lush Prince Shaving Cream, $25.90 48. Gingerlords Beard Oil, $25.00 49. Lush Dirty Gift Set, $28.50 50. Samurai Sword Handle Umbrella, $69.99 51. Rose & Thorne Twinpack Trunks, $39.99.
(and Doug!)
*This is a gift guide for guys, but many of these things could be gifts for women as well. Take this guide as inspiration to help with your gift shopping!

Doug is a bearded Auckland based bike enthusiast and my long-suffering partner. He is an ex-racer who is now on the wrong side of 30 and finally appreciating the slower, more sedate forms of cycling just as much (if not more so) than the balls to the wall riding style of years past. You can find him blogging about all things bike related at Traction Bike Blog.

I would happily accept most of those gifts! Men are so difficult to buy for unless it is beer or undies – great work lady!
Me too! Especially that cacoon – so perfect for blissing out in on the porch! Nothing wrong with beer and undies – just make sure it’s his fave brew and the undies are the Rose & Thorne ones, they’re seriously the best!
This is such a fantastic gift guide. Normally I flick through gift guides for guys and not find one thing that my husband would appreciate. But there are lots here!! If I could afford that 3D printer, my hubby would just be over the moon….
Thanks Nicola! It definitely helped having Doug to veto my suggestions! And I know what you mean about that 3D printer – isn’t it cool?!
This is a fantastic, comprehensive gift guide. Probably the best one I have seen so far this year. Good work Megan and Doug.
Thanks Amy, that’s such a compliment! Meagan and Doug might have to work together more often…
