Did that dress look great when you were in the store but when you got home you realised it didn’t suit you? Never fear! I have the answer for you…

This week I had the pleasure of meeting Siddhi Smith, owner of Encore Fashion Recycle, and got to peruse the new pop-up store in Newmarket’s ever fashionable Osborne Street.
“The move to Newmarket was prompted by so much terrific stock coming into our Ponsonby store, we were literally bursting at the seams. So, while looking at new sites, the opportunity came up quickly to grab this amazing site in a rapidly developing area of Newmarket beside other iconic fashion stores” – Siddhi Smith, owner of Encore Fashion Recycle.
The Newmarket store is arranged by colour – very appealing to visual people such as myself!
HOW IT WORKS:
You bring in your mid to high end contemporary designer clothing (think Loobie’s Story, NOM*D, Prada, Chanel) in very good condition. Items must not smell of tobacco (this smell lingers and spreads to other clothes), and must not be vintage. Please note that stock is currently only being accepted at the Ponsonby store.
The team at Encore Fashion Recycle will then price any items that they accept to sell on your behalf. Once your item(s) sells, you can either come and collect your money or you can add it to your store credit – meaning that you can buy more awesome new clothes!
If you’re just after the cash, Encore Fashion Recycle will pay you 45% of the net price of the sale. 55% of the net price is automatically offered for key New Zealand brands Trelise Cooper, Karen Walker, Zambesi, NOM*D and Helen Cherry. If you’re happy to take store credit, they will pay you 55% of the net price. Credit is valid for use at either the Newmarket store or the Ponsonby store.
Encore Fashion Recycle will keep items for 8 weeks, but will mark them down 25-50% after 4 weeks. If your items don’t sell, then you come back and get them once your 8 weeks is up! Simple as that.
Encore Designer Recycle in Newmarket currently has a great selection of Winter coats – a necessity with the weather we’re having at the moment!
As well as offering specially selected designer pieces, Encore Fashion Recycle Newmarket is offering one-off samples as well as brand new knitwear arriving in-store daily.
Prices range from $21 to $1,000 (with the occasional specialty item upwards of this amount), with plenty to choose from including shoes, boots, bags, jewellery, scarves and sunglasses. Sizes range from 6-18 (for sizes 14+, visit the Ponsonby store – they are bigger and therefore have a larger size range).
