Crop Tops and Curls

This summer has been all about baring my midriff, because it’s been so hot and humid. As we move into the cooler weather, I’m ditching the shorts and cropped tanks, and pairing a ¾ sleeved crop top with a high waisted midi skirt.

My stomach isn’t flat. It’s not tanned or toned. I have stretch marks and my skin is very very pale. But I don’t care – I’ll have my crop and wear it too! I don’t think you have to look a certain way to wear a crop top (or any other item of clothing), it’s all about attitude, confidence and rocking what you’ve got.

I’ve already shared a few of my tips on how to wear a crop top (I’m even wearing this same top, styled with a different skirt), so I’m not going to repeat them here. Instead, I want to repeat the message that lies behind my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project. No matter what size you are, you can wear whatever the heck you please. You do not have to apologise for your body. You do not have to cover (or uncover) any part of it, unless you want to (although, please do wear something – walking through town in the buff is probably going to get you arrested). It’s your body and you can adorn it as you please.

I want to know – do you dare to bare? Do you wear crop tops as part of a sleek, sophisticated look like Tanesha from Girl With Curves or cool and casual like Chastity from Garner Style?
