I am a city girl now, but when I was a kid we moved to the country. We had a small farm with cows, sheep, pigs, chickens and bees; I went to a very very small school (there were less than 30 people in my whole school); there were no footpaths anywhere near our place, or public transport. Actually, in the nearest town, public transport didn’t exist either. Welcome to the back of beyond.
These days, I live in central Auckland, the biggest city in New Zealand. It’s a very different life, but I am still a country girl at heart. One day I hope I’ll be able to have a happy medium – the comfort of city life, but with enough room to keep chickens and give rescue dogs a forever home.
There is something comforting to me about plaid and denim, it reminds me of being out on the farm and makes me think of corny country songs. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks country music, plaid and denim when they think about “western” fashion, right? Well that’s this week’s #NZStyleCurvettes theme, so it’s what I’m going with!
Let’s just call this look “city girl with a country heart”, because the truth is that I’ve lived here in Auckland for more than half my life. I’m still loving the denim and plaid though…
Are you a city babe or a country babe?

So im totally a city girl with a country heart lol.
I think the semi-rural might be the best of both worlds Grace!
