Charmed by Made590

You know when you see something and you just know that you need it? That’s how I felt when I saw this tobacco coloured dress with the stunning print. I’ve visited the website for Australia made brand Made590 so many times and always wanted to buy one of their pieces. Problem is that they have so many cool pieces it was really hard to choose. Then they dropped a teaser of this one on their Instagram, and I immediately knew that it was The One.

The Charmed print was designed by Kirbee Lawler, and was inspired by vintage charms and iconic symbology. It’s hard to pick which part of the print is my favourite. Maybe the moon or the hand? Let me know yours, there’s so much to discover.

Being the first time I’d purchased from Made590, and on the upper end of their size range, I was a bit unsure how this would fit me. I checked the size guide, the flat measurements and the fabric, and went for a 4X which is a 24/26. It took a couple of weeks for my parcel to arrive. Not bad for an international order in the middle of a global pandemic!

As someone with a big bust, there’s always a bit of caution with printed clothing. Sometimes the print can crack or warp when the fabric stretches. I’m happy to report that with a little bit of wear, it’s still sitting nicely and the print hasn’t stretched too much.

One of my favourite things about this dress (you know, apart from the colour, the print and the fact that it has pockets!) is that it’s reversible. The neckline has a higher and a lower side, so you can choose how you want to wear it. I fully expected to prefer the lower neckline, but when I put it on I found that I was way more comfortable with the higher neckline in the front. Take a look at the photo of me from behind, which shows how the lower neckline sits at the back.

Made590 did a whole fabulous collection with the Charmed print, but it was really popular and a lot of the pieces were snapped up pretty quickly. There are a few left in limited sizing though! They do so many cool prints, so I’d definitely recommend following them online to stay up to date with new releases.
