I have the worst case of FOMO right now. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been dreaming about  attending a show dedicated entirely to plus size fashion, and now that it’s actually happening I can’t go!

The Curvy Couture Roadshow is on Sunday the 30th of March 2014, and it’s the first plus size fashion event to be associated with the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival as well as the first event to showcase so many independent Australian plus size designers in one place. View Post

Aussie Curves: Activewear

This is Meagan Kerr - Aussie Curves: Activewear

Fat, yes. Lazy, not so much.

When I was at uni, I was juggling three jobs and full time study; my eating disorder was starting to take over my life again and exercise was one of those things that I never seemed to have time for. I was getting a maximum of five hours of sleep a night, and I was stressed all the time. My friends and family can attest to the fact that I was not managing that work/life balance at all. View Post

Being Fat and Fabulous

Someone made a comment to me recently that my Fat Girls Shouldn’t Wear Stripes project was glamourising obesity. This wasn’t the first time that this comment has been made, and I doubt it will be the last considering that my project is about to be featured on one of our national current affairs shows, so I decided that it was something that I should respond to.

Welcome to 2014…

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! If you’re not still recovering from your NYE celebrations, you’ll have realised that I’m not exactly posting this on January 1st. That’s because I decided to take a couple of extra days off so I could drive down to Taupo to spend time with family and swim in the lake – more about that next week!

2014 New Year’s Resolutions

Okay lovelies, let’s talk new year’s resolutions. For years mine were the same – lose weight, get out of debt, and quit smoking. Sound familiar? Well, I am pretty happy with my body and have realised that my weight does not define me, I don’t have any debt other than my student loan, and I quit smoking on the 1st of January 2011 (so that will be three years this new year’s day!), so it’s time to move on and make some new resolutions for my future.

There comes a time when you have to stop crossing oceans for people who wouldn’t jump puddles for you
