Survivor New Zealand kicked off a couple of weeks ago and my girl Hannah Gough (aka Glam) has been on there repping for the plus size Kiwi babes. She’s a power lifter, a plus size model and a kindergarten teacher, and this pinup is no princess when it comes to roughing it. I caught up with her to ask her a few questions about body shaming, bikinis and being on Survivor New Zealand. View Post

Dealing with stress

Brought to you by Dermalogica

Feeling stressed? Check out these tips for dealing with stress

Everyone has some kind of stress in their lives – it might be studying for exams, a new baby, having a looming deadline, a big event coming up … it looks different for all of us. At the moment, my main form of stress centres around being unwell and my recent surgery – pretty unsurprising, really.

For me, stress shows up in a few ways. I feel exhausted but find it hard to sleep; I find it really difficult to focus; I start burning the candle at both ends; I snap at people around me; my skin breaks out and it also affects my appetite. Obviously not ideal! Dermalogica launched their new Stress Positive Eye Lift recently and it got me thinking about how I react to stress. I wanted to share how I make sure I’m looking after myself when I am going through a stressful time, and give you a chance to try out some of that Stress Positive Eye Lift for yourself. View Post

Environmentally Conscious Fashion and Beauty

Making Environmentally Conscious Fashion and Beauty Choices: New Zealand plus size fashion blogger Meagan Kerr wears 17 Sundays Sage Striped Duster Cardi

It’s Earth Day today, and in the past I’ve done things like spend an evening with friends not using electricity (backyard candlelit BBQs are so much fun!), but this year I wanted to take a moment to think about how we could be making more environmentally conscious fashion and beauty choices. It might seem like a small thing, and it might seem silly to some, but the choices that you make as one person or as a family, they add up. View Post

The Fundamentals of Cupcakes and Body Love

Guest blog by Grace Stratton from Grace Georgia

Cupcakes and body love

When I was a young girl I used to love baking, but I really disliked following a recipe. Don’t get me wrong,  I follow instructions but I have always struggled with the concept of doing something for an outcome somebody else designed.

I wanted to make cupcakes that were entirely my own. Yes, they would have the fundamentals: butter, sugar, baking powder and so on – but if I wanted to make them pink, that’s what I would do. If I wanted to add chocolate chips, then so be it. View Post

I’m Having Surgery

Meagan Kerr ready for an MRI

So, I’m having surgery on Tuesday and feeling pretty anxious about it. Some of you know that I’ve been having some issues on and off for a few years now, and I haven’t wanted to talk about it much, simply because I haven’t had the answers I needed to be able to tell you what’s going on. But now I do, so bring on all of the oversharing (this is why I’m a blogger right? Because I’m all about the overshare?). View Post
