Casual Friday

It might be more than ten years ago, but I remember when I worked in finance and wore a strict corporate uniform. As far as uniforms went it wasn’t the worst, but I really hated the lack of individuality in my outfits, and my inability to express myself through my clothes. Casual Fridays didn’t happen often, but when they did it was a great chance to ditch the skirt and stockings in favour of some much comfier jeans, and let my style shine through a little.

Nowadays my casual Friday look still involves jeans but it’s a lot more relaxed and over summer I’m all about adding a singlet and a kimono to the mix. It’s quick, it’s easy and I’m still covered up while keeping cool over the hot months.

This kimono from Harlow is one of my favourites (and, bargain hunters, I just noticed that it’s AUD $70 down from $199 – jackpot!), because it’s light and breezy, and the fringe is super cute. Being black means that it goes with my jeans and I can wear whatever coloured tank top I want to underneath. Usually it’s black, but I’m feeling inspired by all the fall fashion I’m seeing from my blogging friends in the US, UK and Canada so thought I’d throw in a little bit of wine as well.
