Seeing as it is Aussie Curves Swimwear week, I thought I should share pictures of another hot curvy babe in her bathing suit! I absolutely love the style of this two piece on Cassie, that cropped top is super cute.
Weight, body size and fatness has always been a hot topic for me. Growing up with a mother who never felt worthy of self-love because of her size was something I have witnessed from a young age. Diet after diet, weight loss and weight gain, anguish and pressure all things I learnt to relate to fatness. I grew up fat and I learnt to hate my body.
I remember at primary school been teased about my butt size and belly rolls, being over-sexualised by peers in Intermediate because of my early curves, in high school I was just plain bullied. “Careful, don’t break the curb,” boys screeched at me as I walked past. Another very sad part of my experience growing up with body shaming was seeing my friends, the beautiful and intelligent women I so admired in my adolescence, heavily experiment with bulimia, a cluster fuck of group binging, purging and self hatred all brought to a head buy the intense desire to have the “ideal” body. Being fat in this world was something I had learnt to equate with failure and ugliness, and I felt like an ugly failure. If I could go back and tell young me that the answer to all this was loving the body I have she would have screamed at me, “Impossible!”
Cassie’s story is all too familiar to me, and I’m sure to many of you. Women everywhere are taught to hate their bodies from a young age, and this has to stop. Think about what kind of messages you’re sending to the young women around you – when you proclaim your body to be not good enough, you’re instilling that message in them too!

What a cutie! Best swimsuit out!
Love the “nana suit” – too cute!
What she says about hatred of our bodies being instilled at a young age is sadly so true, it’s so important to place value on the non physical attributes in young women
