There is a camellia tree that grows at the end of the path, and in the recent storms the delicate flowers have been bruised and battered. There’s something sad and beautiful about the way they are torn from the tree and thrown to the ground…
We’ve been having a lot of rubbish weather lately – I feel like it’s been raining for weeks on end. I find myself longing for the heat of summer so that I can be dry, and warm!
In the meantime though, I’m wearing lots of warm things. I even found an amazing dress with long sleeves! Long sleeves are in the same category as skirts and dresses with pockets, I just can’t get enough of them!
And velvet leggings… gosh. When I bought these I was only thinking of how nice it would feel to stroke the velvet while I was wearing them, but they’re actually super warm! I’m looking forward to wearing these more over winter and spring…

I just can’t get away from black on black at the moment – you know it’s an old fave of mine! I even shared a bunch of my fave black pieces for winter over on nzgirl this week – check it out…
I try to balance out the black on black with a little pop of colour. I’m still in love with this snood from ASOS and I’m super sad that they stopped selling them. This is one of those things I wish I could have bought in every colour.
One of the problems about winter is that the light fades away so quickly… I’ve got some big, exciting things coming up in the next few months, and I’m looking forward to chasing the light a little bit more.
Change is coming, it’s an exciting change, and a scary one…
Things will never be the same again…

Black on black is still my thing, and a big plus is that I get to wear it every day because of my job! Loving this and loving YOU, lady! <3 xo
Yeah, no way am I giving that up! Black on black forever xo
super curious about your changes, and loving this black on black ensemble, and the flowers, there is something beautiful, in a dark way, about seeing flowers fallen from trees, I totally agree with you. x
I adore this blogpost…. and you. Gorgeous photo set.
And YOU! Can’t wait to shoot with you again xo
Wow, super excited to see what your changes bring, I’m so intrigued 🙂
Promise I’ll stop being so mysterious and reveal all in just over three weeks… 😉
Ha the way you took the last photos made it look like you climbed over the fence!
Haha yay! I’m glad someone got what I was trying to do! xo
Your hair colour over the black dress looks so amazing! Love the colour of the scarf too… snoods are so fantastic and easy to wear, especially on windy days.
Thanks Madeleine! When I had black hair I wore a lot of black and I don’t think it looked nearly as good as with my copper hair! xo
♡ black on black, love, it’s my own personal fave.
Nature is very good at being beautifully hurtful to itself – perhaps a direct reflection of human kind in the fact we can all be so self critical, and critical of others.
But what comes of nature after it’s hurt? More beauty, just in a different form – even if it is slightly different.
Nature goes through changes just as people do. Embrace the change, and grow with it naturally.
PS I think you are fricken fantastico!
You’re so right Beth, nature is beautiful even in it’s destruction – so much we can learn and grow from that! xo
Also loving black on black here, you’re definitely rocking it!
Looking forward to seeing where your changes take your blog. Excited for you!
Thanks Mel, black on black will always be a fave! Looking forward to being able to share my exciting changes xo
