As I mentioned on Instagram recently, I used to turn my nose up at feather knits because I thought fluffy jumpers were prissy. I’m actually not sure what my logic was there because I will happily wear a tutu for no reason whatsoever?
When I saw this feather knit sweater in the box of clothes 17 Sundays had in New Zealand to shoot their lookbook (yes, I got a super sneaky peek!), I totally fell for the texture and softness and warm snuggliness. I knew it was one of those jumpers that I would want to spend a lot of time in. You know one of the bonuses of feather knits? They feel really nice on your skin – much nicer than a lot of woollen knits.
The texture of this sweater is actually the main reason it was at the top of my lust list (once I’d boxed up the samples to send back to the team in Australia) – because as someone who wears a lot of black, I think it’s really important to bring different textures and fabrics into your outfits so they’re not flat and boring. Mission achieved, I think!
How do you feel about feather knits? Let me know if you’re a fan or not.
Meagan wears:
Envy Feather Knit Sweater from 17 Sundays (gifted, XL)
Yourself Luxe Ponti Panelled Skirt from Farmers (4XL)
180 Denier Tights from Donatella’s (3-4XL Long)
Head Over Heels Bronte Ankle Boots from Number One Shoes (9)
Alexa Glasses from Specsavers
Catching up on your blogs, I hate anything fluffy lol. Well mainly cause of my CRPS, I can no longer where layers, in winter I still tend to wear only 1 light sweatshirt, and possibly a very light soft cardi.
How does a single dad get a date with you?
How did Doug get a date with me? He just asked me out like any normal person would … and now he’s not a single dad. #nailedit
I can’t find it on their website though! 🙁
Sorry Jackie, it looks like they’ve sold out. I must not be the only one who likes to be snuggly and warm!
This looks lovely on you Meagan. Your opening line about the tutu’s and turning your nose up at feather knits had me in stitches lol. Also I LOVE your glasses! Just got some that are a similar shape! Very suave 😛
Thanks Kershia! I love my glasses – I’ve got a few different pairs but these are definitely my favourite.
I got a feather knit jumper in a clothes swap and I kinda feel like it’s my guilty pleasure! I don’t really wear it out (it’s bright blue and sort of “Grover-esque”) but it’s so super soft and cuddly that I throw it on the minute I get home. I like it as my at-home jumper and it’s perfect for this time of year!
Aw! Grover-esque makes it sound even cuter!!!
That sweater is so cool! I love it. It looks awesome and so warm and comfy.
It really really is!
