Personally, I’m not huge on the whole Valentine’s Day thing – why reserve those gestures of love for just one day a year? And why is there so much pressure to spend money? I prefer to show my beloved that I love him in little ways throughout the year, like packing his dinner to take to work every day, picking him up so he doesn’t have to walk home in a storm, and going out to eat delicious things in our favourite restaurants just because.
Last night Douglas and I both had the night off work so we decided to head along to Circus Circus Café for dinner. We had lots of fun eating super delicious food (which is actually on their regular dinner menu too – if you get a chance to head along I recommend the chicken breast stuffed with figs and blue cheese, it’s really good!) and catching up with each others weeks. We came home and spent a quiet evening watching movies and nibbling on these mouthwatering chocolate hearts that Donovans sent me. What more could a girl want? He even snapped some outfit photos for me – what a gentleman!
None of this “red on Valentine’s Day” for me!
Instead, I went a little bit risque and wore a sheer lace top from Harlow with my new favourite skirt from Hope & Harvest, which is a gorgeous bright blue – a totally out of character colour for me!
Couple selfie! I know, aren’t we adorable?
