Let’s just preface this by saying that patterns aren’t really my jam. Especially clashing patterns. The extent of my pattern love is stripes and spots … and my bird dress!
I wanted to wear the skirt high waisted, so I folded it over at the top and added a belt to hide the waistband.
And then I stood in front of a fence that would add some extra stripe action into my photos. You know, just to mess with your brain. I’m good like that…
I love the way the stripes on this skirt change angles. When I wear it high waisted like this, they do such a great job of enhancing my curves in all the right places! Maybe I’ll have to make a more permanent alteration to the skirt…
So, clashing patterns. What do we think?
What patterns would you mix and match?
Meagan wears:
ASOS Curve Skater Dress in Bird Print from ASOS
Alexia Stripe Maxi Skirt in black and cream from Kmart
Art Deco Belt from Virtu
Bryony tortoiseshell glasses from Specsavers
Britney Brogues by Garage c/- The Warehouse
This is certainly your hottest outfit I reckon! You are my lady crush even more so with those glasses on! I love your belt I want one so bad!!
Aw you! I got my belt for like, $7 – best bargain ever!
Oooh the misdirection! While we’re looking left, your fence is going right, while your skirt goes every which way and the birds be like “we just chillin'”. LOVE this look!
Hehehe that made me think of 10 Things I Hate About You when Kat flashes the coach in detention…
I DO love a good monochrome pattern clash {almost wrote pash, awkward}. Nailed it lady.
this is a great pattern clash! I think working with a monochrome palette is *almost* fail proof, but making one of those patterns stripes is a real winner! The bird print is super duper cute! and that stripey fence is messing with my brain 😛
Yes, this is an awesome clash! and, I love that bird print. The angles of the striped skirt make it unique too don’t they? Like, it’s not your common or garden variety striped skirt… got a bit more kick to it! It’s good. 😀
This look is fab. I love monochrome!
