I had a super quiet Christmas this year, just chilling out in Whangarei with my family. We have a very large extended family, so it was nice to have a quiet celebration with no fuss. I wore a maxi dress my Mom made for me a few years ago. I love this dress because not only does it fit me perfectly (the joys of having something custom made), it has acres of billowing fabric and it makes me feel pretty!
We began our day with champagne and phone calls to family all over NZ and Australia, followed by the opening of presents. I was very spoilt this year, getting the Michael Kors watch I wanted from the boything! Other gift highlights included a cast iron frypan from the in-laws and a bag of potting mix and some tomato plants from my dad!
The whole day was filled with the eating of delicious things, and for once I ate just the right amount – I have to say that since I started listening to what my body wants, I no longer eat until I’m over full. I ate just the right amount of everything – including this delicious pavlova my dad made…
The real highlight of my Christmas day? My little brother finally proposed to his girlfriend. They’ve been together for what seems like forever, and I’m super excited to be gaining such a wonderful sister-in-law. Seriously the best Christmas present ever.
The rest of Christmas day was spent playing Yahtzee, eating fresh cherries and hiding from the rain. I hope you all had a wonderful day with those you love!

super cute, love that dress on you! Sounds like you had a nice christmas! My uncle made the pav this year and it was so fancy, he turned it into two long pav rolls, it was crazy good smothered in dark ganache sauce and rasberries with a choc mouse filling.
Holy moly Ezmae, that sounds AMAZING!
