It’s a beautiful day today, with sunshine beaming down on a brand new week. What better way to celebrate gorgeous weather than with floral inspired outfit and some time spent in the sunshine?
I’ve found myself really drawn to flowers over the last few months, both in prints and actual flowers. I’ve always been the kind of girl to veer away from growing flowers, yet now I find myself with a bed of marigolds. I think I have been loving the bright flowers because we had such a gloomy December where, despite it technically being summer, it did nothing but pour with rain. Now that the sun is out in full force, it’s time for flowers!
In terms of gardening I am most definitely sticking with flowers that are easy to grow. Things that are bright, cheerful an require very little attention are the best kind, so I can admire them but not spend too much time snipping, pruning and chasing away pests.
When it comes to flowers on clothing, anything goes – I have florals on a black background, on a white background, on dresses, on skirts, on kimonos, on headpieces… you get the picture. Today I decided that since it was Monday I really needed a pick-me-up, so not one but two floral items, with a gorgeous watermelon coral pink top to match my nails. Despite my dislike for pattern clashing, I don’t feel like I’m doing too badly lately – I’ve definitely improved.
I even have a bit of sparkle and bling – what a great way to kick off the first Monday of the month!
What colours or patterns brighten your mood?

I love your outfit – I’m definitely a sucker for florals, and you look gorgeous xx
Red is probably my go to feel good colour (it’s my mum’s too), also anything with cat prints 🙂
Thanks Kahurangi! All of the yes to cat prints too…
I love how florals work with florals. They don’t have to match perfectly because gardens don’t either.
I was never a girl to like florals, but ever since last year when I fell in love with a full length floral jumpsuit, I think I’ve been hooked. Heaps of floral or none at all. Go hard or go home I guess. I’m even considering wearing flowers in my hair while wearing all floral. Is that too much?
Oh man, I thought about wearing my flower crown but worried that it was overkill! I love what you said about the prints not having to match because gardens don’t – that’s going to be my philosophy when wearing florals now!
This outfit is floral perfection and you look gorgeous xx
Thanks lady x
I love love floral and love that skirt. hey I am going to be at Monaco on Monday March 9th if you are about, maybe meat at lunch break which I think is 12pm 🙂
Thanks Jackie, isn’t it lovely? I am heading out of town for that weekend and was hoping to be back in Auckland on the Sunday but it looks like I’m not going to be back until the Monday evening just before I have to work 🙁 Sorry hun! Next time for sure!
Loving that sequins on the kimono!
Aren’t they gorgeous? They make me feel so fancy!
