One of the things I wanted to try this year was almond shaped nails – I’ve seen them on so many people and when they’re done well they look amazing! So last week I visited nail guru Penny Lazic at Monaco Nail Academy, and asked her to make it happen.
I usually keep my nails quite short, so to achieve the almond shape I had to have enhancements added. There are various ways that you can do this, but I opted to try two different methods (all in the name of research, of course!) – gel enhancements on one hand and acrylics on the other. I will tell you about those a little later on, when I’ve had the chance to wear them for a little while and can give you an informed opinion.
The almond shape took a little getting used to for me. I spend a lot of time on the computer, so for the first couple of days I found typing quite weird as my fingers aren’t hitting the keys in quite the same way. Now that I’m used to them, I freaking love my almond shaped nails! I also love this custom watermelon shade that Penny painted them – so perfect for summer!
Have you had almond shaped nails before? What do you think of this shape?
